With
more than 8 thousand km of coastline,it's
not easy to choose a beach in Brazil, however
one beach that stands out this summer is Jericoacoara,
which is located on the north coast in the
state of Ceará. |

Jericocoara has a special energy, different

most beautiful beaches in the world.
There
is no doubt about the natural beauty of the
dunes, and the lagoons within them, besides
the ocean formed sculptures, like the Piedra
Furada (Tunnel Rock), the showpiece of the
beach. In the nighttime, Forro music (a rhythmical
Brasilian dance music), reggae, and electronic
dance music invade the town's streets. Another
option is to enjoy the night among the sand
dunes enjoying the sound of the wind and a
guitar.

enthusiasts have their place guaranteed in
Jericoacoara due the excellent climatic conditions:
calm ocean, warm water, and constant winds.
Jericoacoara is considered one of the THE
KIND beaches for windsurfing. Also a stand
out is surfing, kitaesurfing . dune buggies
and trekking, as well as other adventure sports.
Sandboarding, a new arrival, is a quickly
growing mania. ALL the necessary equipment
for all these sports is easily rented. Capoeira
is an african-brazilian martial art, which
historically was disguised as a dance form,
due to it being prohibited by the government.
Capoeira has become widespread in Ceara due
to it"s enormous worldwide (tourist)appeal.

With
almost 15,2 thousand inhabitants, what appears
as a fishing village actually hides an infrastructure
of more than 60 Hotels and Inns that have
been developed during the last few years and
leave the visitors nothing to desire. The
international and regional cuisine disputes
the area harmoniosly with pizza and the traditional
banana cake. In order to preserve the natural
beauty of the region, the residents have been
taught ecological management and Jericoacoara
has been established as a protected area,
(APA, Area de Protecion Ambiental) and the
Jericoacoara National Park has been formed.
Jericoacoara is located 313km from Fortaleza,
with access along national highways 222 and
402, passing by state highways 085,422,354,
402 and 179
